OBITCHUARY, Chapter 2

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Chapter Two is ready to go! My illustrations are getting more ambitious, per fan request. Pretty soon, I'll be getting invitations to show in galleries (HAHAHAHno). Here's chapter one if you need to get caught up.

In chapter two, Penny hits an all-time low at work and stumbles into her new career as an obituary writer for the newspaper.

Watch and enjoy, sports fans. Chapter three is next week. And don't forget to like my annoying author page on Facebook. It's a week old and already starting to talk back.

  2. Love it! You are such a talented writer. My hat goes off to you, good woman.

Question: what was the best technique or method you found for writing mysteries? I'm in the beginning stages of a story myself that's a mystery, and I've never written one before. I don't want it to turn out like an episode of Blue's Clues.

  3. Haha. Thanks! And I totally understand. I'm sort of a seat of the pants girl. I know, generally, my premise and then I layer it from there, then go back and make sure there are no holes. The main thing is to make sure every scene has tension, even if it's small. Someone wants something, and there's something in their way.

Here's a very loose, unhelpful description of my plot process. http://www.stephinfections.com/2011/07/how-to-make-plot-also-sandwich.html

  4. Hey Stephanie,
How's it goin' eh? Now then, if my um 'adoring fan', Samantha think's you rule, it must be so :)
Aha, I notice you have a page on Farcebook, everyone's favourite social notworking site. I shall, if you don't mind check that out. Take care and happy writing.
Sincerely, shy, humble and unassuming Gary

  6. Aha Stephanie,
Are you impressed? Over here in lil' ol' England, it's gone four thirty in the morning. Yet, "SSHU Gary!" has linked into your Farcebook page. I know, there are no adequate adjectives to express your euphoric delight over knowing this :)
    Have an awesome weekend.
